Traditional tractor blessing for the Klausen fair with impulse, blessing, parade, and tractor show at the Old Pond.

A good and firm tradition has also become the blessing of tractors on the occasion of the Klausen fair. In cooperation with the clubs that organize the fair, tractors from farmers and winemakers from the nearby and surrounding areas have been blessed for 12 years now. This year, the blessing will be performed for the first time by our new deacon, Andreas Maria Baumeister.

The word tractor comes from the Latin trahere, which means to pull. It thus means a towing machine. A significant easing of work began with the invention of these machines. Horse and ox teams became unnecessary. Today's tractors are equipped with many horsepower. From the simple old tractor to modern multifunctional towing machines, they can be viewed before the blessing at the old pond.
