Operetta festival "Zeltinger Himmelreich"

Again in July 2027, it will be time: The Zeltinger marketplace will transform into a stage, with singing, acting, and dancing performed exclusively by amateurs, namely locals, all done with a healthy dose of mother wit. And the operetta? It's called "Zeltinger Himmelreich," it revolves around wine, and it lives up to its name.
The year is 1780, and the winemakers in the Kurköln district of Zeltingen-Rachtig are rebelling against their sovereign, the Elector of Cologne. They no longer want to pay the tithe, which is annually delivered in the form of wine from the excellent Zeltinger vineyards “Zeltinger Himmelreich, Schloßberg, Sonnenuhr, and Deutschherrenberg.”
The Elector is informed that the wine is so sour this year that it cannot possibly be served at court. When an envoy of the Elector suddenly appears to verify the quality of the wine firsthand, the excitement is understandably high. However, with a clever trick, the ingenious winemakers manage to deceive the inspector. Of course, a love story must not be missing ... more will not be revealed at this point.
By the way: And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, there is a guaranteed alternative – so that the evening remains as it should be: unforgettable!
