Winery & guest house Schmitz-Bergweiler

For five generations, our family business has been cultivating wine along the Moselle. Our focus is on the grape variety Riesling, the "queen" of white wine grapes. From this, we produce excellent wines and sparkling wines using the champagne method.

The vineyard parcels are partly planted with vines that are more than 50 years old. Only steep-slope vineyards are cultivated with great care by hand. The vineyards are located in well-known and famous wine regions such as Bernkasteler Badstube, Bernkasteler Graben, Ürziger Weingarten, and Erdener Treppchen.
In the modern wine shop with an attached guesthouse - centrally located in the old town of Bernkastel - visitors and guests have the opportunity to enjoy the excellent wines of the renowned winery. In addition, many typical Moselle specialties are offered. In nice weather, the outdoor terrace with its seating - in the middle of the pedestrian zone - is a popular meeting point for wine lovers.
