Eidechse auf Moselsuche

On the adventure trail near Maring-Noviand, visitors learn interesting facts about the evolutionary history of the Moselle valley and the habitat of the wall lizard.

Expected opening of the trail: end of May

Thematically, the trail is accompanied by two aspects: the Moselle circulating mountains and the wall lizard - as the leading species of the Moselle vineyards. The special feature of this trail is the many artfully designed habitat aids.

Insights into the hiking tour:

The circular trail begins at the Siebenborn hikers' car park and leads from there past a tower of life up through the vineyards of Maring-Noviand to the Green Classroom. The first themed section of the trail focuses on the history of the Moselle circulating mountains. Numerous information boards accompany the hiker and vividly explain the formation of the river valley. Several seating areas offer great views of the unique landscape of the circulating mountains. The second part of the trail is dedicated to the wall lizard - here former stairways of the vineyard walls have been artfully transformed into various habitat elements that serve as ecological stepping stones within the biotope network. Here you can learn a lot about the lizards' habitat.
