Wanderung
Seitensprung Graf Georg Johannes
The hike starts in the village of Veldenz, which lies in a beautiful valley of the Moselle. The hike leads through a part of the former county of Veldenz. Originally, the county comprised the villages of Veldenz, Andel, Brauneberg, Burgen, Gornhausen and Mülheim.
The eponym of this premium hiking trail is the most famous offspring of the Veldenz counts, who married a daughter of King Gustav I of Sweden in 1563. The tribal history of the counts of Veldenz is very interesting, especially since they were also related to the famous Wittelsbach nobility. Their history is thematized on this 14 km long fling. The seat of the former counts, Veldenz Castle, can be admired from many vantage points. The tour starts and ends in the village of Veldenz.
On the way there are places to stop and rest.
